Looking at it now, was going to go the LRA replacement fuel tank
(150L), went to TJM, as we have an auto, lucky the rep advised that it doesn't fit autos. The auxillary tank is close to 2 grand fitted from TJM, ARB have the Long Ranger Auxillary for around $1600 fitted.

There's around a 2 month back order for both types of fuel tanks.

I have just fitted an LRA (Long Range Automotive) tank to my D40 last month. I had a quote from an online supplier for $1050 delivered but ARB matched is so ordered through them. I was told delivery would be 12weeks but turned up a few days later. Depending on where you live you may also require a mod plate, In Qld you do, which cost another $80 for the inspection and plate.
The tank came with everything required to fit it including failrly good instructions allowing me to fit it myself in around 4hours. The arm on the fuel sender float needs to be extended by cutting and brazing in a short piece of rod, which is supplied, so you need access to an oxy set, other wise a bit of filing and cutting and extending a few wires is all that is required.
I did look at the auxillary tank that Longranger make but they are more expensive, you vulnerable plastic tank is still in place and you still only end up with a total of 150lt.

Cheers
Chris

What ARB store did you buy from?
Does the steel tank hang down lower than the plastic one?

I think a lot of people don't like plastic, but it is tuff stuff, look at thin plastic inner gaurds, they cop a lot of rocks and last a long time, don't rust

Hi Glen
It was from ARB Maroochydore, who I find very helpfull as well.
The tank does not hang any lower and gives the same ground clearance. You are right with the plastic being tough but think it is rather vulnerable if it is dragged over a rock or stump.
