Just got back from 3 weeks in
shark bay.We where on the boat most days and it is amazing the amount of life in the bay.
I would not be exagerating if i said we saw up to 50 dugongs within 150 metres of the boat sometimes. As
well as dolphins sea snakes whales (the bugger surfaced within 20-30 mtrs of our little boat at
steep point And our boat being all of 14 ft made it fun.....)
Did not like nanga bay much.It was very run down and dirty, lack of maintenance etc etc etc Spoke to quite a few
shark bay locals who confirmed the bad state of this resort. If you want to rough it and dont expect hot showers All the time then it will probably be right for you.Me i would not waste my money again.
Okay thats my rant over..............We left on sat about lunch and drove through to about 11.30 or so and stayed in a council gravel/bluemetal stockpile area near the stromatilites turn-off.
fished heaps did the sight seeing thing, airplane ride over useless loop salt the zutydorp cliffs etc. When on a quad bike tour ,saw the dolphins at
monkey mia etc
ANYWAY ..................just briefly i highly recommend this area just get out before school holidays ....

Hi nsngood, we are headed up there in a couple of weeks, just a small trip before the
Birdsville races.
Looking forward to it, we have been going up there each year around this time with our daughter and SIL and Grandies. A lovely spot.
Cheers
