Hi all, greetings from Hobart (It's cold down here).
I'm thinking of a revamp of the GU patrols suspension and I'm looking at probags and OME shocks all round. The bags give so much versatility with ride ht. weight distribution etc etc.
My question is is there anybody out there with this rig and what affects are there on road handling camber etc. What camber correction would you need if any as it would spend most of its time at the standard ht.

i presume you are only putting airbags in the rear of the vehicle?
if so and if it is going to stay at the standard height most of the time then i dont believe any wheel alignment concerns are going to bother you.If your wheel alignment is checked regularly and in spec etc then whats the drama??
I havent dealt with.... probags.... before but most bags installed correctly (and used correctly) wont affect alignment as you are remaining at the standard height. If you are looking for a permanent lift then i suggest you replace springs and shocks as a set and then add some bags in the rear for those extra loads..

I have a two inch lift in my gq with no airbags (although when the budget allows they will be installed). This lift is achieved through new springs and shocks, be aware that this mod will require in most cases for some aditional parts as the front and rear diffs will shift sideways slightly depending on suspension type.I.E. most leaf springs NO most coil springs Yes.

Thanks for the info. I was planning all four bags as the probags replace the coils entirely. It seems the advantage with this system is the infinite ability to adjust for load and the capability to raise suspension up to 4" in a tough situation.
Your thoughts?

oh yeah The additional parts are called adjustable panhard rods.

Hi Paul, airbags will work well in your rear suspension. Great place to buy is Trucksprings in USA. I bought some for my Pathfinder about 8 months ago, they landed here in 2 weeks from website order- Firestone brand & $134.00 delivered to my door. If they don't have your exact vehicle on their list, you can give diimensions of your coils & they will supply to fit. easy-peasy and a damn sight cheaper than local supply. cheers Don

Yes I did the same for my l'cruiser from Trucksprings. Got a compressor and gauges and all. So I can now control the height of the rear of the vehicle from the driver's seat. All up it cost less than $400.00 and delivered within five days.

The trucksprings sound interesting, do they sleeve inside your coils or as the probags do replace the coil entirely. The probags seem to allow great flexibility in ride ht and load balance.

With coil sppring vehicles the bags go inside the springs. With leaf spring vehicles they attach to the springs. see:- trucksprings .com
