Probably wire it up the same way I just put a volt meter in for two batteries. That is, use a ON-OFF-ON switch. Take one wire from reversing light power and the other from battery. Centre terminal of the switch goes to the light. Should work, shouldn't it?.

I've always used a relay and make sure it us FUSED! If you have a meltdown of sorts the fuse will blow. If you don't have one you could get smoke...
Cheers,
Mark.

A fuse before a switch is no different to a fuse before a relay.
You don't need a relay to switch a worklight. There are plenty of switches around capable of switching one.
Make sure you get the right sort of lense - ie. proper worklight not just a driving light wired up as one. Switchable rear facing
driving lights are illegal in some if not all states.

No worries Dave. It is easy to over look the members swap pages and go straight to the
forum, I do it to.
Happy wiring :)
