Hi,
I have recently bought a 1984 Jayco Songbird with front bunks. The previous owners removed the timber for the bunk and have misplaced it. We would now like to put the bunk back in place for use, but don't know what type of timber to use or the design. All we have at this stage are the 2 hinged supports at either end of the bed. We have the idea that ply is used which folds horizontally when bunk is stored in vertical position securing with a chain lock on either end.
Anyone with any information, suggestions or designs on how to replace the lost bunk will be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Annette

Is the type of timber all that important. What with stain and paint you can make it look like any type. Why not do the rounds of the used caravan yards, find one similar to yours, take some piccys and your in business. That easy.

Hi DIO thanks for the reply,
Easier said than done - I've been to both Page Bros and the Yard out in Bayswater - VIC and would you believe that there is not one pop-top with bunks?
Was hoping that someone on here was able to assist!
Thanks, have a good day!
