For what use?
how many people?
What accessories?
Winch?
Dual Batteries??

Theres a lot more to suspension than just buyin and throwing on.. Suspension should be the last thing you buy after you kit out your truck, that way you weigh front and rear, and get the right shocks and springs to suit.

FWIW, Koni are THE best shocks, King or Dobinson Springs are top 2.

I agree with Truckster in working out your application requirements as much as possible ST_2004.

We have different needs , I keep my GU as light as possible and for my Patrol I wanted max 4wd capability without raising the car and hence kept standard springs and used adjustable tough dog shocks.
This allows things like removal of sway bar , and using quick shock adjustments to reduce sway for heavier loads.

Spacers are used to get overall levels right , and I change to wheels with larger diameter tyres when I think its needed.

Important to get it done right , as while I agree Koni's are good shocks a mate of mine blew the top right out of a new Koni in Simpson last week.

Go to your nearest OME Stockist. They will ask all the right questions, and get a suspension to suit your vehicle and needs.

If you have the $$ get Konis. I went from Rancho's to Konis and will stay with the Konis

Hi mate,

I had the same questions about 2 years ago as I have a Sept 2004 GUIII 3.0LTTD. I just got back from a month on the road (8000km of which 5500 were on track/4WD track including the Canning). I found a two inch lift help significantly with some of the more demanding sections as I didn't worry as much as those who had standard. I ended up buying a TJM XGS system with springs and steering damper for around $1200 in Dec 2006. The system worked well and we didn't have any issues to report over the last month. I did however hit them up for a caster correction kit just before I left and got a good price from TJM but I did mention they said they weren't required during original fitment. I also fitted some poly airs which are good for the camper trailer but came in handy once again during the recent trip as the wait I had was a lot. Hope this helps

Dave
