Powerline Trek Feedback

Has anyone driven this track recently? I'm just wondering what condition it is in? I've got a gu patrol and it's getting a 2" lift on wednesday. Was thinking about trying the track on the weekend.

Hey Brett, I just done this track last Sunday and its in good condition, i too have a GU and have done the Powerline trek a few times, the last being after a 2in lift, its a good run after a bit of rain and you'd have to be pretty unlucky to get bogged, there is one part though, about 15km in from Coolgardie st that is a bit tough, its a large washout and you can go left to avoid it but its much better conquering it, just straddle the high points cos a few guys on the day nearly rolled, all in all a good track to learn and the difficulty is upon the drivers choice, all hard parts have a route around them but whats the point if you don't take the challenge?!! have fun ill be back on Friday, PS: watch out on weekends there are alot of people on the track at this time

Nine of us did the powerlines on Sat. night starting from West Talbot road at 6.30. The fence line is in appaling condition and one vehicle came close to rolling. Another point on the track past what we a refer to as FLat Rock - which is about the three quarter mark ( if coming frm Flynn drive ) has deteriorated, although most of us - even those with IFS made it up with out any drama. The less experienced drivers were advised not to try it ( the same goes for the fence line ) At one point we were all advised NOT to try and negotiate a section - coming from Flynn Drive which has a steep steep down hill section with a sudden drop off at the bottom right hand side, and then a 90 degree left hand turn followed by another 90 degree right hand turn, where a Landcruiser rolled Sat week ago. That section now has a wash out over metre deep. We got out and examined the wash out and considered it was too dangerous. Other than that it was amazingly dry, a few water hollows that everyone had great delight in making big bow waves, and one section that despite the gooey mud, it had a firm base, but no one except for two vehicles that had lockers were able to get up. We played around in that area for quite sometime, but gave up after five other vehicles, Patrols, Cruisers and a Pajero could not get through. Otherwise an uneventful night out. I was amazed at how dry it was as we were leaving dust trails in places. Just be aware of the places that I mentioned are considered dangerous. We dont want any fatalities and then have the track closed down.

I done this section on sunday and it was not as bad as you make it out to be, i am an inexperienced driver and now am better having done it, alot of the cars in the convoy were attemping it and getting through, its more than possible, i say go for it! by the way i got some great footage to show for it
