Just wondering if anyone out there has done one of those tag along tours that are advertised. Thinking about a Simpson or a Kimberley trip and as not overly experienced thought that this may be way to get some experience before launching out alone. Any comments, suggestions??
ALSO
anyone knwo anything about these Vortex Generators that are supposed to give better fuel consumption and horsepower. Driving an NP Pajero petrol

TBTA, you'll find a few tour operators on this forum (not me :)
A tag a long is an excellent introduction to the country and 4wd techniques you need to develop before setting off by yourself. Joining a 4wd club is another great idea, as they often run training days and trips.

Leave your generator at home or it may be "Taken by Aliens"

Vortex generators fit into the air intake of the vehicle...but having done a bit more research myself I can answer my own question...snake oil!!!

The vortex generator sounds a bit like the use of the wind coming in thru the grille to turn the radiator fan around, thereby assisting the engine! LOL

Hello takenbyaliens,
We have done a weekend trip and a 10 day trip ex Adelaide by the same mob each time and had a WONDERFUL experience each time!
Bulked at the initial costs, but after trips were wondering why because the value was superb.
Not just a trip but total continual instruction and training along the way.
First was a weekend near Beachport in SA, the second was a High Country Tour of the Huts.
If I am allowed to name the operators I shall do so in a follow up message.
Cheers Mobi

Hi, We have just recently done a tag along tour across the Simpson Desert and Flinders ranges with a husband and wife outfit out of Brisbane.
Worried about the cost, but after doing the trip realised it was an absolute bargain. Through out the trip had ongoing support and always felt we were in safe hands plus the knowledge these guys shared along the way was incredible. Being new to the game i felt that I gained so much confidence that now I would be quite happy to explore further afield. Also made some great new friends. Highly reccomend the tag along thing.
