Consider this scenario
SPOT Unit concealed in vehicle, automatically activated by movement,
vehicle gets stolen.
Grab laptop, two mates with baseball bats, go get 'em and do some educating.
Well worth the money to see their faces!!

You mean something like this?
Vehicle Tracking | Geoff,
Grey hair is hereditary, you get it from children. Baldness is caused by watching the Wallabies.

That vehicle tracking system works real good.
A number of years ago I had a phone call from the local coppers wanting to look in one of my factories.
Turned out that a Bobcat had been stolen and had one of those GPS tracking devices installed and it showed the stolen Bobcat was in the street that my factory was in.
The cops just went door to door down the street and asked everyone nicely if they could have a look in their buildings, the first guy that said no they said no worries parked out front and waited whilst they called for a search warrant.
Recovered the Bobcat in less than 8 hours after it was reported stolen.
Appears that insurance companies are insisting on the fitment of these things for heavy equipment.
