I can now attest to the fact that naked flames and lead acid batteries do not mix. In fact they explode witha sharp BANG.
How do I know this,
well I place my golf cart (ride on) with two 74 amph batteries into the back of the Pajero and placed my golf bag with weather cover on on top of the cart. I go into the car and notice some stange buring like smell, turned around HOLY $H!T smoke, the old fella got out unloaded the golf bag now on fire, and removed the battery (now on fire) on put it into the middle of the road and tried to extinguish the golf bag, the fire extinguisher was empty of course and BANG the battery was no longer on fire.
Try explain that to the insurance company.
No a Friday funny nor an entry into the Darwinian awards cause no body got hurt.

Golf club head across battery terminals will do it every time.

lol I can visualise it (the panic) while its would look funny is quite serious I'm pleased it all worked out
well. I would assume the fire extinguisher is now charged :).
An exploding battery can be quite dangerous, I would also recommend you check in a few days as I'm sure you will see some white spots on the upholstery which may also need to be covered by insurance.

well i thought golf was as exciting as watching paint dry!!!
I'll think again when i sit down to watch huntingdale next time!!!
Thank goodness your both alright and the battery didn't explode and cover you both in boiling hot acid.
Acid plus Heat = bad bad injuries and disfigurement for life. quite possibly.
