Having posted a question on the hilux sr 2005 model the answers we got back were great. Thank you all that replied. The next questions is" Is it there a heavy duty clutch system that can be fitted to the hilux or is there some other way to prevent this problem from happening

I went safari tuff heavy duty 4WD in my hilux and it was great. Made by exedy I believe.

and a cheaper option is ebay they often turn up on there.

Not sure if they do them for 2005 models you would have to ring them

Riding the clutch is a killer. Commonly happens when people are reluctant to use low range, particularly if bogged or taking off uphill.
