just wondering if any one knows the standard rim size and what size tyres were fitted to A 83 mq swb patrol when they first came out, just to clear things up the tyre placard in the glove box is unreadable. currently running 15x7 sunrasyia with 31x10.5x15. if memory serves me right I think they came out with a 16" rim, just wondering if its worth going back to a 16x7 and tyres or keep the 15x7 with the 31's,
any feed back would be muchly appreciated

Some models had the wide wheel pack but I think the majority came with the 750x16 wheel and tyres. You generally get a better tyre selection with the 15x7 rims, so you may be better off staying with them.

There was a wide wheel pack with flares, or the std pack with 750x16, stick with the 31's as tube tyres are a pain.

Standard models used 750x16 split rims with an 8 ply rated radial. The "wide wheel pack" used a 15x7 white spoke and the common garden variety 31/10.5x15 6ply Dunlop Trak RV. These were a "marginal" tyre for wet roads, but a high mileage tyre for the desert. No longer made.
