Hi there,
Will be spending a couple of day with "rellies" in Maleny for a 80th
birthday and was wondering if anybody can suggest any easy tracks around the Maleny/Landsborough area.
I know that Kemilworth offers some good spots and has a good
camping site but i was thinking more like a day trip and back to Maleny.Even a 4wd
park like the Landcruiser
Park but not as far. All feedback greatly appreciated!!

If you are new to the area you may find the Postmans Track down off the range interesting country (mostly bitumen). The start of this track is out on the road to Bellthorpe/
Woodford.
Another road of interesting area is the Obi Obi road. If you went down the Postmans Track, then on to Kenilworth go out the other side about a km and then take the Obi Obi road back up to Mapleton.
Other easy roads include go to Mapleton then follow
the ridge line out to the north where there is a dam, waterfalls, and
lookout. I think this road is called Cedar
Creek road.
Drive the Old Northern Road through Glasshouses to landsborough.
Drive down the range through Peachester from Maleny etc

Not sure what the track is actually called but it's at charlie Morlands
camping area near Kennilworth. Some awesome driving out there with some great crek crossings too. GPs helps out there as very easy to get lost.

Most of the roads I mentioned are easy touring 2WD roads but are very scenic routes.
Actual dirt roads in the forest require permits except for the main tourist loop at Booloumba Falls and the Sunday
Creek road through to Jimna but this is starting to get away from from Maleny.
Enjoy your travels
