I have just done a little bit of offroad driving and it had a fine white dust over it. I washed it the other day and it has stained the bullbar and some of the car.

Would anybody know an easy solution to get rid of the stains?

Mattta I have a six letter word
POLISH !
some soils are very very corrosive, the fine dust & a little water leave classic water marks all over the paint work if you used a quality car wash&wax and you dried the car off and you still have marks you will probably need to polish off the marks.

My grandfather used to always tell us to wash & polish the car before getting it dirty so it will be easy to clean, might be an ounce of truth in that....
Wax-on-wax-off, Wax-on-wax-off......
Bright finnished bull bars look really smart... until of course it comes time to polish it, happy my truck has one in basic black, very easy to look after with a can of flat black paint. bright finish alloy & chrome are great on road cars, my car has alloy wheels & it takes ages to clean them after a trip out west on the red soil dirt roads. my truck on the other hand has painted steel wheels, a quick brush & they come up a treat.

"Mothers" for the chrome & alloy works very well
of all things the "new finish" car polish I was givven for Xmas works well!

happy motoring

Matta

could even be ash residues from the fires it would be slightly alkaline or acidic - doesnt take much to stain your duco - also If you've washed it in bore water you can get the same effect.

Matta,
I use Maquires polish for the best results, as mentioned "Mothers" is really good and the Kitten brand albeit cheap has also had some good write-ups. Hard work is the way to get rid of the marks I'm afraid, cleaning the duco straight after a trip, even on the way home if the body work is really dirty, one of these brushless car washes with the underbody water blast usually hits the spot, depends how keen you are. I sometimes get refused after a really dirty trip they don't like the systems getting to clogged up.
I got some bird poop on my roof about 18 moths ago, I didn't notice it and I still have a stain despite many a happy hour trying to polish the mark out.Keep the shiny side up
