Patrol CRD - noise in load/overrun transition

Hi All,
My new Patrol is very noisy at the point between load and overrun, between 2-2500 rpm - a rattly metallic noise similar to but louder than a normal diesel noise, and much louder than the previous 3LTD's I've had (Hilux & Rodeo).
Is this normal ?
(I would have posted this on the relevant Nissan
forum, but they've put a block on new registrations)

A lot of the CRDs have a rattle at certain revs. My triton does but they have reduced it with a computer program update. It originally sounded like it was going to throw a piston out the side of the block.
I don't know whether the Nissan has had any updates to theirs or not.
