Hi all,
Probably done before and done to death, but is there a "KIT" available or is it a matter of gathering all req bits and just do it. Do you recommend plastic or rubber hose, what bits are used in the diffs, (the original bit) or new brass ones? Does it need fuel filters in the engine bay?
Regards
JD

JD, I bought 1/4" (6mm ?) fuel or emisson hose and a 5m roll did the feed right up to the firewall. 200mm and 240mm cable ties to get it there held in place and I used fuel filters too for each breather. I used the original barb into the diffs.
Mine has a breather for the gear box and transfer case up the side of the engine, so I haven't changed that. I have another 5m section of pipe spare now ;-)

I made one like this. Push type air fittings in bottom and silencers in top. The fittings in the diffs, etc. are stop fittings with an internal valve. If the tube comes out no garbage gets in.

just use the breathers at the end of the original hoses and then get hose like already mentioned earlier and couple of hose clamps and some cable ties and you'l have it done in a few hours. i ran both front and back diffs as high as possible up in engine bay, gearbox is still to be done as it's really hard to get to the O.E breather. hardest part will be deciding on route to run the hose to engine area.

Hi JD,
Mate, most replies I read are close to the money, just run your hoses as high as you can. Should be standard but a lot of 4X4's are used in Pitt St.
The 100's may have fixed the other LC problem of the Transfer/Gearbox seal going. Regardless of high breather tubes. Symptom; Open the gearbox plug and oil starts pouring out - Transfer losing oil. Pressure equalisation stuff.
Down to the friendly mechanic and pass over a bag of money. Some hard trips later - same problem.
We just drilled out the top plugs of both and welded in 90 degree elbows and join 'em up with a fuel hose. Still got a 22yo spare hose in case a branch rips off the original. Never used it.
The old dogs out there are yawning but I'm surprised how many
young and not so
young blokes haven't heard of the remedy
Cheers
