Now I will have to do more 4wd trips. Managed to score myself a Nikon D700 today. It is due for release in a week or so. So beware my pics can only get better.

Hi There Pete, still learning how to use all the controls and features on
mine lol. Need a bloody degree. Have been trying to get into courses but seem to just miss the Q "sorry booked out" seems to be the most common answer. My wife's, girlfriends husband (lol) is write into it so have been asking him a few tips etc. Like yourself he does allot of motor sports, fast moving stuff and allot of the outback shots. Like yourself he has some fantastic shots of scenery's etc. Hope the new camera (Nikon) doesn't give you any grief and works like it should. All the best with it. regards Steve M

Hi Peter
Any reason you went for the D700 over the D300?

Hey Mate,
I did think of the 300 as there is a $1000 difference, but I claim it in tax anyway.
I will still use the D200 as a backup. The main difference being that now my 14mm is a 14mm with the 700. Whereas with the 300 my 14mm is a 20mm. Basically the sensor is larger and gives bigger pictures being a full frame. Shutter is good for 150 000 frames, battery life = 1000 frames, is tougher than the 300 plus a few other things.
Will use it to see me through till Nikon brings out the 24.9 m pixel camera.
Peter

Hey John, lol,
That lens is only just getting back to its original potential......
The last camera was holding it back.
