We are having a new van built and were wondering if anyone has had experience off the beaten track with venetian blinds in their caravan? Our van will be fitted with simplicity
suspension and 15 inch
wheels.

Venetians blinds whether in the house or van are poor at stopping heat transfer & are dust traps where as close fitting Rubber backed Roman blinds or curtains are far better. (IMHO)

Agreed.
And on the rare occasion that a morning sleep in is required, nothing worse than a venetian blind with sunlight leaking through.

Yep, Craig, I agree. We have the rubber backed material thay we hang with Velcro over the windows. A lot less bulky than rattly venetians though I know some who use them. Light block and heat transfer are the operative phrases.

hi, in our van (not an off road) we have venetians and backed curtains as it was already like that when we bought it and yes that works
well but the venetians can be a bit of a pain at times with getting dirty and not sitting right but they do stop a lot of light and heat as ours close over really
well not allowing any light in and compered to our curtains that always seem not to close properly so we just use them both.
good luck chris.

a note to add to above is not to put venetains in the kitchen area as that's an utter pain they get very dirty and it's hard to keep them clean, Chris.

Rod N,
Good quality thick curtains are the go. The Goldstream I picked up several weks ago has them - and even when the sun comes up, it's like a darkroom inside!
Oh, and they are machine washable to boot! (ventains dont look the same after a good machine wash!).
Cheers, Matt

thanks everyone for your imput, venetians look classy but maybe not that practical when on the rougher tracks as they may not ride as
well. cheers Rod N
