Now this may come across as a really stupid question and i feel really stupid asking it, too scared to ask in person actually, but how do you connect the Coaxial cable to the UHF. I have the pl259 connector and i have stripped back about an inch of the cable to expose the centre wire and about 10mm of exposed braided wire. I slide the connector onto this and then screw connector to the cable that comes from back of UHF. But then the cable can just pull out, it isnt locked into place. Surely i am doing it wrong. Seen somewhere though that i have to solder it in place. Helped a mate do his few years back and his just screwed together and it was done. UHF is a Uniden UH400sx.
Feel like a real goose

Hi mate,
If you do it correctly, as per the instructions, no way can the cable pull out.
There was a thread on here in the past week, complete with diagrams to show how it is done.
Cheers,
Dennis

Hi Neil,
I have fallen into the same trap when copying links.
When copying a pasting a link make sure you only use one http://
The link you posted actually was
http://http://www.dse.com.au/cgi-bin/dse.filereader?488b94c000c77ce02740c0a87f9c0788+EN/catalogs/SUP0001869
hope that makes sense.
William

It also sounds like you also need to tighten
the nut on the aerial coax connector that locks the cable onto the male end of the connector(a bit like a garden hose tap connector).

Where are you located? If you are near me (
Adelaide Hills) you can bring it around and I can do it for you.
