Hi all,
SWMBO and myself have decided to do the chop and turn the wagon into dual cab ute. After any suppliers that do this...have googled (cant find much). Have also seen some pretty ordinary ones done.....like to find one that makes it look like its meant to be.
Thanks in advance
Cheers Mick T

Mick,
I went throught this same thing 12 months ago and settled on an interstate conversion company to do my 100 series conversion. Known as Darkside Conversions www.darksideconversions.com.au
I looked at Wide Bay Conversions, Creative Conversions in QLD as
well as Specialised Vehicles in NSW but the overall quality of work and the all inclusive costs of Darkside did it for me.
Darkside may not appear be the cheapest to do a conversion but the workmanship is second to none. Take into account the extras charged by other conversion companies which Darkside include into the cost. I was quoted by others
well above the amount I paid Darkside for all the additional work I wanted added. i.e replace second row of seats for GXL ones, under tray drawer, LED lights etc.
Darkside only convert one vehicle at a time and can afford to take their time to do it right. Plus they are members of ExplorOz ;)
I think I have covered most things, if you want more info MM me
Cheers Kev

Hi there,
Yep we do them, however, could be awkward given your in QLD, Al wouldn't be able to start a conversion until the new year as he's flat out at the moment.
Creative Conversions have a good name, so I would advise you
check them out.
Well done on your decision, I have a cut 100, and it's the best thing ever, heaps more space for STUFF...
If you'd like any advice on what to look for feel free to email us,
cheers
Lyn

Mick,
We had a 100 series wagon chopped by Creative Customs about 4 years ago. Also had 800mm added to chassis length, so we ended up with a "normal" size tray.
Did a good job, and finish on the cab is very good. Ended up with 2 handy toolboxes, where the rear wheel arches were.
However the attention to detail in rear wiring was pretty ordinary. They kept the original wiring, right to the tail, and a few things stopped working, even in the first 500km. Rear fuel gauge, trafficators & one brake light were u/s for a time.
It's been a very practical vehicle for us. Carry 6 staff members all safely??? belted-in, while you can throw on a mob of swags, or 3 motorbikes, or even a welder, oxy & tools.
Compared to a hilux, narvara etc, these are not in the hunt when compared to our "Limo". Just needs a turbo.........
Hooroo,
Bob.
