HELP please!!!!
Last Saturday we travelled from the Main Weir
camp ground at
Lake Pamamaroo, near
Menindee, to
Wilcannia.
We thought that a log fell off the roof, but now we have discovered that it was infact our awning.
It was lost on the
Darling River Run, that goes between
Menindee and
Wilcannia on the Eastern side of the
Darling River. If it is still there it is laying on the western side of the road!
The awning is a Bob Burrage awning, about 3m long, rolled up in a plastic coated canvas bag, and attached via sail track to a piece of square aluminium tubing, that has two ladder racks on it for attachment to the roof racks. I'm not sure how to add pics here, otherwise I would do that too. If you open the bag, the awning is quite dirty due to frequent use, and is huge. Included is two spreaders attached with cable ties.
So, anyone travelled, or intending to travel this route? I am hoping it is still on the side of the road, or someone might have found it and either be trying to find the owner, or to sell it!
I have contacted the police at
Menindee and
Wilcannia this morning, but have not heard back yet.
Can anyone help in any shape, way or form?
Jo
