Water tank lock

Can someone help with a problem on our new caravan.
The
water tanks have the locking lid which is supposed to spin freely once they are locked, but I can't seem to get
mine to do this - they can be removed whichever way I turn the key! How are they supposed to work?

judyu try turning the key to lock then pull the key out it out it should spin then

sounds like the cap is faulty i have this problem when they get full of dust ands after a clean they come good, but if its new then take it back to the manufacturer.

Hold the cap stationary while turning the key then remove the key once it is locked.Some caps tend to turn while you are trying to lock it which results in an unlocked cap after removing the key--hope this helps.
