I have an Aussie traveller interior locking door & screen door on our slide-on, but can't separate the two, they are well and truly jammed together by the lock and are inseparable. I have taken the unit off the hinges but unable to work out how to fix the problem. If anyone has come across this problem before, with any ideas how to separate the 2, I would much appreciate any ideas.
I have tried to contact the A/T with no replies.

Yes, the one on our caravan you lift the handle to separate the two doors and push down to open as usual.

Hi Andrew,
I had this problem with a three lock door, I removed the two screws from the top and bottom locks on the door, this should allow you to seperate the doors. I found that the part of the lock between the two doors has a safetypin type spring catch, I removed this spring and with a pair of pliers put a slight bend in the wire/spring this allows the spring to clear the latch when when door handle mechanism is lifted . A little trial and error is required. At least this will give your somewhere to start from.
When reassembling do not over tighten the screws as you will destroy the latch and we paid over $30. for one early this year. they are quite fiddly things so a little patience is required
Hope this helps.
regards
Peter

Hi Peter,
Thanks for your help. Finding the problem was a challenge, but finally after pulling the lock apart there it was. The 3mm square bar that operates the locking mechanism had snapped inside the lock. I should be able to have this replaced under warranty.
Thanks again.
Cheers Allan
