Hi
I installed Oziexplorer on my pc a couple of days ago but when i tried to open a map that was in ozfx3 format (from my Hema Navigator), the program didnt reconize the format. I was able to open these maps when I was playing around with the trial version, why can't I open it with the full working version.

Hi Cruz,

Not 100% sure but make sure you have a .ozfx3 and a .map file of each map in the same folder.
I think it needs both as the .map file is an index file. Try it, that may be the problem.

Thanks Kerry.
In the trial version I clicked on the .ozfx3 file and it opens fine, but in the full working version a window comes up saying that .ozfx3 files arn't supported. It's got me buggared.

Hello
Its always a bit diffiucult over forums to figure out some peoples issues, especially when some information is lacking as it increases the number of potential causes.....anyway

Really need to know if when you say you have the "full working version" you mean you have obtained a registration code for OziExplorer, and then entered it correctly? or are you using the Shareware/Demo version? If you have registered are you using the development version or the release version?

The trial version will open OZFX3 images BUT the Shareware/Demo version wont. Obviously registered Development and Release versions will.....so question is what version are you using and is it registered?

If you have a regeistreed version and they still wont open will consider next lot of potenial issues.

Cheers
Greg

Greg,
I bought Oziexplorer on cd, installed it entered the serial and key numbers and have the program up and running. I click the LOAD button then LOAD MAP FILE which opens up a window. I then go to the folder that I have the map files stored on the pc hard drive. I click on the osf.map file that I want but the registered program wont reconize the file. If I follow the same procedure with the trial version (not the share ware version) the trial version opens the file no problems.

mmm - weird - where did you get CD from? Maybe super old stock (e.g. Release prior to 3.95.4d (October-2004)
version that didnt have support of ozf3). Do you have other image formats that do open?

What version is shown (Help - About) ? Is your reg info showing (Help - Registration Notice)

Best I can suggest is to download the latest version (released Feb last year) from the website OziE Download

At least this will ensure latest and greatest.

Re-install and see what happens

Bingo! Issue was that you had release version prior to 3.95.4d as I suggested above. Advice to all is to check for latest version on the website on a regular basis.

My version is 3.95.3f which is dated Feb 04, an old version. I opened up the share ware version and registered it with the Registion numbers on my cd. It all seems to work and it opens the files I want. How Iv'e just got to get my head around how to use the program. Time to go to the help file.

Hi Nige,
$130 mate. Which is what they are worth I think. I feel a bit ripped off because its such an old version though. At least I was able to update it.

In defence of the newsagent - In reality you are just paying for the reg code - the fact that it also includes a disc with the program is just to get you going - wouldnt be surprise if it actaully says on the CD cover to check for latest update anyway (if not, it should). There would be no point in getting new stock everytime there was an update as they are available free on the website.
Have fun.
