Good write -up Dunc. Enjoyed reading it. Must go have a look at some of that country soon.

One comment that puzzled me though
>Arrived back at camp at about 11.30AM and the smoke we had seen was the group burning their rubbish<

Must've been a hell of a lot of rubbish!! I hope the remains of the rubbish was carted out. We manage to minimise our rubbish to a bag full after 14 days. Burn the tins but fish them out of the fire before leaving a camp. Try not to burn plastics.

Cheers

Evening Willem, yes we burnt most things that would burn and we only left ashes. Each morning I'd sift through the ashes removing bits of tin foil, caps, cans etc. In most cases we also buried the ashes so as to maintain, as best we could, the pristine nature of the place.

I brought home a rubbish bag that was full of burnt metal and aluminium cans, and other stuff I couldn't be bothered burning. Good thing about a bag that hangs of the rear mounted spare you can fill it with heaps of garbage and it don't stink out the car.

Just had a full read myself Duncan, you have covered the trip well without going too much in depth.Over my last couple of trips I would agree that Point Lillian is a special place, especially as you walk over to the pines growing in the valley.
Can you send me home phone # again and I will call you during the week.

Excellent report Dunc, I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

Your have definitely woken up interest in what was otherwise an unknown bit of country.

Must get out that way myself one day.
