most people fitting after market turbos wind the fuel setting a quarter to a half a turn. When I had
mine serviced and calibrated for the turbo it involved setting all settings (fuel, advance etc) to factory specs and then for the turbo each setting was incresaed between 6 and 10 percent depending on customer. I chose 8%. It all ran great after having it done with good fuel economy.

When I bought my GQ it had an after market turbo fitted. I took it to a Diesel fuel system specialist for a tune up. He said it needed a "boost compensator" fitted to the pump to compensate for the changing boost from the turbo. I checked with a mate who knows his way around diesels and he agreed so I said put it on.
It made no difference. The car was overheating which is why it went to the specialist in the first place but he did not fix the problem despite significantly reducing the weight of my wallet. It's a long story but I eventually ended up at a Diesel fuel system specialist in the Southern Highlands. He agreed that the boost compensator was a good idea but said that it had not been set up properly. When it was all done it was like driving a new car. It went faster and ran cooler using less fuel.
Yes it was a win, win, win. I would recommend seeing someone who really does know what they are doing at get it done right.

Sometimes a workout on the dyno is included giving before and after HP figures
