A report on my journey to NT,first dat was a disaster, I actually left El Arish on Saturday Morning the 2nd August and only got 6 Ks down the highway with right rear on the van puffing smoke and the front left running extremely hot , I done the right thing before a long journey and decided to replace all bearings on the 4 wheels ...No problems , so I thought, turns out when I purchased 4 sets of Timken Bearings from Supercheap I bought 2 sets that were correct and 2 sets that were slightly larger, all sets were were in Identical packageing for Caravans and Trailers, and the incorrect sets were allowing the hub to go further onto the axle and rub on the backing plate if tightened up, but backed off half a turn was ok except with all the grease didn't show up the sloppy difference , So back to El Arish and thats where I found the difference, went to the Servo in town and he had the correct size so done the right side Saturday afternoon and the left one on Sunday morning, All is well now and I got in 602 Klm yesterday to Hughenden , at this time I'm in a parking bay at Maxwellton and got the gennie going to give the fridge and freezer a boost for a couple of hours and have some lunch. Slim and Dusty are having a great time and travelling OK, Thought Dusty is an old hand at roaming all over Australia, Moral of the story is ...GET THE RIGHT BEARINGS ,
When I went to pay the Caravan Park owner for the extra night on Sunday morning he just gave a smile and said ..this ones on me , I'll miss the friends there at the park but will always keep in touch on the emails . The Diggers Creek Van Pk is worth a stop over for anyone heading that way , you will be made welcome.

Probably many places, I'm not in a hurry, all park bays across the barkly and I might go spend a couple nights in the Van park at Tennant Ck but that wont be for at least a week and half , at the moment I'm in a park bay at Maxwellton fitting a reverse camera ....,,,WHY ...lol, are ya gonna BIFF ME,
If your in the areas keep in touch and I'll keep you posted as to my whereabouts., look for a Troopy Pilot car with CURIO on the bug deflector, and lots of antenna's and if dark look for roof LED's White / Red / Amber / White.

Doug,

Good to hear you are heading West. I am sure the Troopy will be happy to be on the move again, as will Dusty.

Please keep us posted whenever you have internet access.

Cheers
Dick

Hey Doug,

why not keep driving and come back to WA.

You know it's your second home, and the Eagles need you!!

I'm glad I ain't too scared to be lazy
