Gooday all,
We'll may be looking to update our tow vehicle over the next few months and at the moment the Navara is our prefered choice.
I've been down the 'search' track but I haven't been able to find any Aust. forums or user groups.
Does anyone know if there is such a forum or group ?

Lance

If you're looking at getting a manual Navara just be aware that the clutch is very weak and burns out easily when towing. I believe that in Japan the vehicle is only rated to tow 1500kg where as here it's near 3 tonne. Where I work we have had to replace a lot of D40 Navara clutches.

Thanks for the responses chaps.
I've been reading navara net but was hoping to find and Australian forum.

Clutches seem to be a major problem for the D40 but we will probably go with an auto as Anne is not overly keen on manuals.

Our current van is 1300 tare and probably 1600 loaded. If we update the van further down the track the max would be about 2200/2300 total.
We would not be doing any hard core Off Road work.

Auto would do the job OK I think, but I would like your honest opinions.
And which engine ?
Not necessarilly new, 2-3 y/o would suit us.

Any more thoughts ppl ?

We have the 3 litre TD Navara and it has worked a treat, though we put on a larger exhaust and more importantly the CHIP from ARB which increased our torque heaps.
