First of all thanks for this great site and I apologize to the moderators in advance if I have placed this post in the wrong place. New guy here...
I am wondering if any folks are traveling the CSR next month in September. Is this too late in the year? Secondly I am into wildlife filming and am hoping to film Princess Parakeets around Lake Tobin
well 40 area. This is a rare species almost unique to CSR habitat. I am experienced traveling and living in remote areas.
So... I am wondering if it would be advantageous to have a friendly Canadian guy on board who is low-key with a great sense of humor and could contribute to the trip in the way of a financial boost plus a personal film for you and your mates of the entire trip to enjoy for years on DVD. I have done this for other australian mates for East Africa and they loved the result. Ideally I would be a passenger and be on board to help and contribute to the trip in any way I could.
Cheers and thank so much to the staff here for a very informative website!

You are in the right place. September will still be OK and should not be too warm.
Not sure about your question about Canadian fella etc. Could you be a bit more specific about what you need?
I believe that the Princess Parrot is very elusive so good luck with your filming. Nevertheless it is a great part of the
Great Sandy Desert and should look good in Spring witrh many
wildflowers showing
Cheers

Yeah I figured something like that but wanted to hear it from the horses mouth. Maybe he does not realise the logistics involved.
Still...throw the right money around and we can go for a drive....lol
Cheers

We did see Princess Parrots in a number of
places on the Canning in May/June. But they are fast fliers and I did not note any behaviours that would have made them easy to find and film (ie. they don't constantly fly between two points as some parrots do).

Okay Folks:
First of all thanks for the great replies to my post! To be more specific yes I am indeed looking for a ride and a chance to see Princess Parakeets. I have owned this species as an aviary bird in Canada and they are wonderful birds. So picture this... Years of living in snow and ice country and dreaming of an outback trip and hearing and seeing this species flying free! (Be like a little kid for sure) Also correct... no large roll but I thought perhaps something could be worked out that would be beneficial for all and that does mean reimbursement. Also after reading extensively on the CSR and watching video clips that others have taken of their trip I have gathered that this is not exactly like a drive in the
park. Always up for an adventure here. To Wild Adventures photography tours thanks so much for the info and encouragement about sighting the species. I am always up for a challenge as far as filming...
Cheers and thanks!
Don
