hi all
i have had gas on my GQ patrol 4.2 after market turbo for aboout 2 years and not been impressed. when someone has asked about the fitting of it on this forum i have all ways given a negative response.NOW THE REASON FOR THIS POST. on my way home there is a long steep hill it used to be 3rd. gear at 60 k's .the vehicle sat in the drive way over the week end not touched. on the way home monday it went up the hill at 90k's in 4th. gear it suprised me so much i went back and did it again same thing.
i took it to the gas place to have it checked they put there gauges on it said nothing had changed setting were the same.
i took it to diesel mechanic mate to see if any of the settings on the injector pump had changed he assured me nothing had. he took it for drive and was blown away, the way it had performed. so i don't no what has happened to the vehicle. machanic has no idea what has happened he said just enjoy. so would i recommend to put gas on diesel now definely. i just hope this thing keeps performing .
regards
al

was gonna ask the same question Al. Which brand? I've got Ecoshot and there are a couple of screws where you can change the settings. One makes the gas come in early or late and the other lets in more or less (a bit like on a brake controller) I've had mine about 6 months and it's brilliant. Just to check I wasn't imagining the improvement I took it up a long hill that I had to do in 3rd gear - it easily got up in 4th and faster too. The only thing I've had to twiddle for, is that it was using too much gas - I've now toned it down. Anyway, take it easy and don't be taking on those Porches at the lights ;))
