Hi all, Over the last couple of months I came across a problem with the replacement duel battery tray fitted to the multi valve 6cyl turbo diesel P/C. The first one was a company vehicle, it would crank over but would not start, The second one was from a couple on a trip passing through
Newman with a intermittent starting problem, if he turned the ignition on and the glow light didn't flash up for a second the vehicle wouldn't start. After allot of head scratching and thinking I found that the start/glow relay had been mounted on the outside of the battery tray and rubbing on the injector pump cover. Over time the cover of the relay gets a hole in it and causes the relay to fail or play up. If you have one of these vehicles, I recommend you check you have not got a relay rubbing on the pump cover. I would hate for any one to get stuck in the middle of nowhere because if this problem.
