Had more side wind yesterday from
Cloncurry to
Avon Downs plus the hills put fix to any thoughts of using 5th gear , the wind has a chill with it too, it was damn cold last night out across the plains , Today from
Avon Downs to
Barkly Homestead was a real treat with almost a tail wind and sat quite happily in 5th with about 1 inch of accelerator,I bought some fuel at Mt Isa Woolies at 1.79cpl less the 6c discount from a woollies docket from
Mission Beach, Called in to Woollies at
Cloncurry for groceries, wish I had waited until the Isa , didn't know they have a new
IGA next to the Overlander Hotel , will be stopping over in
Tennant Creek for a week when I get there in maybe 3 days time, 3 days you might ask, NOT IN A HURRY and not a tourist .

Hi Doug,
Must have passed you somewhere, as I stopped at the Lake Julius Turn off
Rest Area on the night of the 7th. Got Unleaded (no docket) at the Shell in MT Isa for $1.489 on the Thursday but a bit of a culture shock at a $1.889 at
Camooweal & then $2.179 at
Barkly Homestead.
Tonight I'm at
Daly Waters & tomorrow in
Katherine & in
Perth by mid October.
John
