Hi I'm looking to buy a 1999 pajero it has been checked and has a good report apart from a little leak around the transmission area. However this vehicle wont change from 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel drive whilst moving as they are supposed to, if it is low on transmission fluid would this stop it or is it more serious? And is there a trick to changing from 2 to 4 wheel drive?

Thanks

Need more info

1.Can you physically not change?
2.Is it grinding?
3.Are the lights flashing/not responding?

1. Fluid or big problem. Need more info
2. Push in clutch or lift right foot or slow down to less than 100kph
3. Typical Pajero dash lights. Need more detail for right answer

See answer 2 for correct procedure to change.

Hope this helps

Paul

it will change if vehicle has stopped and put in neutral but is stiff. If I try and change whilst moving it does grind. Do you have any ideas?
