I presume the 79 series has leaf springs ??

Qubert ,I am not familiar with the cruisers but i assume the have a panhard rod which will be your first concern when lifting any coil spring (unless of course they have independent front end ???).
If so when you lift the suspension you will move the diff sideways which will result in crabbing and some degree of unstability.
This being said you will not be able to lift much at all unless you start modifying bits and pieces.
Adjustable panhard rods are availaible and any lift over about an inch and a half will require them.What state are you in as in wa a lift over two inches total (body tyres or suspension in a combination) is subject to engineering approval and a lane change test.Costly yes, but so is having your insurance voided.

We put one in our new 79 last year - don't know the specifications but contact Fred's 4WD Conversions (I think he may be an advertiser here) in Toowoomba (he goes everywhere) and ask him. He's the expert. He did ours.

No mods required with 2" lift and 40mm longer travel shocks on the 79series.

As soon as you go higher, you will need to extend the brake lines, use a caster kit etc
