I have a Codan 6924 25watt(1973 model)
HF Radio
It has the following channels:
2020 Chatter channel
4010 RFDS Everywhere
5145 RFDS
Cairns
6845 RFDS
Charleville
6890 RFDS
Port Augusta
6950 RFDS
Alice Springs
6965 RFDS Mt Isa
8022 VKS 737
It was last serviced in 2003 and worked the last time I had it connected about 2 years ago.
I have no use for it any longer and it needs a new home.
Anyone interested in such a beast may contact me via MM or via email through my website.
I am not listing it in TRADER as I am not selling it.
Cheers

We had a few of them when I w0rked for Dept of agriculture. Used them on the Plague Locust outbreaks until we got a good workable VHF system with our own solar powered portable repeater.

I remember using them too, in my early days up north. Showing my age.

Willem, hate to upset the apple cart but one sold on Ebay for over $400 the other week. I am currently fixing the military version of the above for a collector, so they still have value.

Another chap sent me one to fix from WA. It was a pretty simple fix so I didn't charge him much, but the freight cost wasn't cheap.
Had a guy who wanted to put one on a yacht the other day. Told him that his life must be worth more :)) Even though it was advertised as a marine set, there was no way that it could perform adequately in the event of an emergency. Basically he was like a lot of other people, they don't see the point of spending a couple of grand to protect their 100K investment and their lives.

Yeah
well...I have had these radios since the late 70's and have used them in times of need. The HF frequencies still have value, especially the modern ones, but I really have little use for one. I don't 'Check in', send messages or listen to others telling all and sundry that they have travelled all the way from Ayers Rock to Curtain Springs today and tonite they are cooking xxxxxxxxx................Yerr, I'm a Grumpy Old Man...lol
