Can somebody enlighten me regarding tyre sizes??
I am aware of 15in ,16in &17in tyres but lose the plot when people start talking about 31s,33 & 35 & even 37 ?? tyres.
Whats the story on these sizes & how do they relate to 16, 17in tyres. is there some type of conversion chart.
Hope somebody can enlighten me?

15,16 & 17 are all referring to "WHEEL" diameter. 31, 32, 33,35, 37 and 44 are all referring to "TYRE" diameter.
It gets even more complicated when you start factoring in the newer style of tyre referencing.....EG: a 285/75R16 is nominally a 33" tyre on a 16" rim. In this case, the 285 refers to the tyre width in mm...... the "75" refers to the sidewall "height" (in this case it is 75% of 285mm) and the 16 is the wheel diameter in bloody inches. Crazy, eh!!!!! hahaha
