Try the LPG website. I think it is lpg.com.au

It has a map, locations, dealers etc.

Good luck and cheap motoring.

Jim.

try lpg trip planner . com BUT you'll find a lot of lpg servos with "out of order" signs on the lpg pumps LOL,strange that huh...especially when theyre selling petrol at well ove $2 per liter.....

but the trip planner is a great site with most lpg sites.ifn you find one "out of order" then theres sometimes others to go to...Good Luck.. Rod

i would expect WA to have LPG everywhere - doesn't LPG come from WA?

they must be lucky enough to pull up to the gas lines and fill up anywhere from the bottom of the state to the top.
with all the mining revenues they bring into the rest of our country (thanx WA) i would even expect them to have pretty well subsidised LPG - maybe 5 or 10cpl - like the Saudi's pay for petrol.

i would compare it to eskimo's (bad PC) not having to pay for ice.

please tell me if im wrong - and i wont convert my car to lpg before i travel to WA.

cheers

I thought LPG came from Bass Strait , isnt that where all(or most)of the oil wells are ...after all it is Liquified Petrolium Gas..a by product of crude oil....then I may be wrong to..I believe most of the gas in WA is Natural Gas...then I may be wrong on that to...cheers

dont let me frighten anyone off getting the dual fuel conversion done or full time gas too for that matter... we converted to dual fuel and have never looked back... BUT be aware that theres servos out there that have ways of NOT selling you lpg but expensive petrol instead.
depending where you are at the time you either get caught and buy petrol or you fill up with lpg and continue on your merry way...

but these servos ARE out there, trust me. NO i wont name any but ive told you what the signs are to look for... Cheers.. Rod

I think the mark up the service stion gets on lpg is about the same as they get for petrol. Supply via those big gas tankers is a bit further apart and I dont think thoes big gas containers at the stations hold as much as the underground liquid fuel tanks. I think you are being a bit hard on the service station owners.

Hi Chris, We came over in 1999 with a dual fuel ford station wagon, I to was concerned about availability of gas but was given a map at Ceduna caravan park map that showed every petrol station and what they served,ie gas, diesel, and unleaded. We found this map to be of great use. I you can get it form any tourist in S.A. Good luck

We've not long returned from 6 months starting in Vic, around SA, WA and back down the Centre. Had no problems getting LPG on the main routes, only one place up northern WA didn't have it and another hadn't fixed it's compressor so our backup 70 litre petrol tank came in handy. Every stop on the Nullarbor had it, expensive though! We left Streaky Bay, payed 89.9c/L and 400kms later at Nullarbor Roadhouse it was $1.20/L! Let the attendant know about it. On the other side around Caiguna/Norseman it was just above $1.00/L. Even though this was back in February some time, it gives you an idea of the jump up in $$$ and most places in Vic at the time had it around 65/70 cents/L.

Cheers,

Mark.

I recently paid 112cpl for LPG at Roebourne which is 50km from the gas plant. Throughout the Pilbara it is around 100cpl.

The gas has a pipeline that delivers natural gas from the Northwest to Perth where it is refined to produce LPG. The wholesale price is around .43cpl. The rest is tax, transport & markup. Strangely LPG can be exported to Japan where it is sold for 81cpl. They pay the same wholesale price so I think that service stations in regional WA gouge the price.

In answer to your availablity question. LPG is available if you have a range of about 350km.

mfewster, apologies if i offended you but a petrol station with an "out of order" sign [NOT "out of gas"] on the lpg bowser so you will fill up with petrol, approx $120 versus lpg $35....i think thats a bit harsh im sorry...
now there must be genuine out of order lpg bowsers out there but not dozens of them all at the one time...

just like in the cities theres been a lot of complaints lately that servos "shut down" the cheaper petrol pumps on certain days so you'll fill up with the dearer stuff... DONT bite my head of ppl ,just quoting the news broadcasts lol...
