Here's a helpful tip to gain more room on the unit memory, when you connect the unit to the laptop or PC via the USB you can open the memory of the unit, first make a copy of the files onto the laptop /PC hard drive, you never know when you might need to replace a file that could be accidentally deleted , after you make the copy open the folder called garmin , inside that is a folder called "Voice", open that and you can delete all the foreign voices , just leave the English ones ,then open the folder called "Audible" and delete the pre installed part books ,you can gain some 8MB or more of space , DO NOT DELETE ANY OTHER FILES,

I forgot to add you can also delete unwanted JPEG files from the JPEG folder and from the HELP folder all the non English folders saving another 13MB of space .

Go on ...you can do it , it's easy, Tennant... well not to bad at the moment, the wind has dropped a lot, but I guess it will get colder as the night progresses, I will be leaving here in the morning heading further North , will be doing some free camping along the way, give the Gennie a workout for a few days,

Doug,

Are you using the City Navigator Australia NT 2008 as your map data (as fitted on purchase) or are you using extra map programs (like OZtopo) for your navigating around the traps?

I have a 760 and am looking at updating the card with more comprehensive data.

Cheers

Yes 2008, will be updating to 2009 soon , I also have installed T4A, OzToppo V2.1 and the contours,
For the update I will get the full version on CD, the update only allows you to update the software on the unit thus you can't have it on the PC , with the full version I can have it on the PC then upload to the unit and doing so will wipe 2008 completely.

Another Hint
Those of you with the Nuvi 760, you might have noticed that the unit makes a new track saved every time after it's been turned off and on , you can join all saved tracks by high-lighting them all on Mapsource and doing a right click tracks can be joined into one ,
