Hello Trendsetters,
I have just been reliably informed that our resident Droopy Driver and all around troublemaker is going for GOLD.
This is like the LUCKY
Darwin Awards
THIRD PLACE: Not only does he wipe off the front end of the Droopy by careening into a washout at the OBC and spend many $$ getting it repaired at home he wasnt content.
SECOND PLACE: He attends the Cliffhanger as a taster for the EO National Gathering, he fits some extra gizmo to the Droopy and takes off to test it out and whammo hits a washout and wipes off the SAME corner of the Droopy, Yes Trendsetters the EXACT same corner almost identical damage, at least he knew what was stuffed - word is he quoted parts numbers to Toyota off the TOP OF HIS HEAD!
RUNNER UP: Of course he had to get the damage repaired and missed the National Gathering DOH!
GOLD MEDAL FIRST PLACE: With several thousand bandaids on the Droopy he heads off home towing his mobile planet (Jayco Base Station - nice rig) and happens to collide the van with a poor unknowing third party wiping off the side of the van and writing off the hapless third party vehicle. Oh Dear Oh Dear
Lucky indeed.
Now to top all this off he kept it VEWWY VEWWY quiet, at least the last mishap. At this rate poor Dierdre will have to work till she is 156. She really is a Saint and of course a dedicate Social Worker. Roachie, bless his soul, is laid up with the Flu but on receiving this news was said to have been feeling MUCH better. He was NOT however informed by this correspondent.
Now normally I wouldnt say a thing but apparently a small scrape in UnZud was enough to send Lucky into the giggling stratosphere so I felt it my duty to report this Gold Medal Performance.
Also Trendsetters: and most importantly
If you see a white Droopy on the road give it plenty of room, try the next state if you have the option. Woird is that there is a 5000m exclusion zone around his vehicle and you can download the location for your gps to add extra cautionary warnings.

The poor poor man. Met up with him in
Broken Hill on the way back from the gathering. At that time he was still waiting for parts to put the troopy back together.

I have it on good authority that every toyota dealer in Australia has Lucky's photo prominantly located in their spare parts dept with a caption :
"VIP: This bloke will spend $$$$$$$ here; look after him or lose your job!!!"
Word has it that he has the droopy in the "shop" at the moment. The gurus are working out how big an intercooler they can cobble-together to fit under that bulbous growth on top of it's bonnet. The feeling seems to be that they will be able to increase the RWKw from around 80kw to possibly 100kw.
Word has it that he has decided on this course of action following a rather embarrassing situation on the trip to NSW, when he was "rounded-up" by a Nissan Cedric towing a 17 foot Corimal Caravan.
I hate seeing Lucky suffering from these inadequacies and will AGAIN be sending him a brochure for a fabulous Nissan Patrol 3L CRD...... at least it won't go fast enough for him to be able to get himself into any ditches, washaways etc.

I'm so scared to attend
the Pyrenees Gathering.
Bonz and Lucy in the one place, lightening must strike.
I'm not a man to test fate.
I'll make it safe and holiday in Iraq.
Jim.

Anyway....we're wasting our time trying to stir the ol' Lucky.....
I had an email from him today stating that he was no longer a member, visitor or lurker on EO.....too many wan-kers on here for his liking.
Sorry that I got the venues mixed up Nudie....could have sworn you attended the Manarto teddy bears picnic thing-o-me-jig!!!

Gday Pesty,
I know this is a bit dated but been away and all that.. I spoke to Mr Lexic the other day about a S.A. Gathering for 2009. So unless you have something you want to do, give us a cple of weeks and we will lock something in.....
