Was thinking of heading to Black Point this weekend but the trek notes say that it can get very wet. Has anybody been down that way recently or at a similar time of the year.
Thanks in advance,
Craig

hey Craig,

haven't been down for months but the amount of rain recently would have the track condition less than favourable.
Will speak to Ren tonight there is a good chance someone has come through the store that's been or is going. Her boss will know for sure.
Say g'day to Dale!

Thanks Evan, you have also answered my next question. We were going to ring you (or MM) once we had decided if we are going. It sounds as though you are unavailable, maybe next time. Your trip to Kal sounds good but we would have to do a fair bit of juggling to get there. We will give it a go and see whether we can get there.

revhead 307 is right in saying that the Lake Jasper route is fine, but heard the rain has been relentless the last month so wasn't to sure. In any case if you can't get through, Lake Jasper and surrounding an't a bad spot as you probably already know.

not home till 21st so can't join you. hope you can swing it for the goldfields trip!

There is more than one track into black point. There is a seasonal road that will be closed at the moment. The water covers the track for kilometers in the low lying areas with varying depth holes.

You can access it from lake jasper on a higher route. I went in winter last year and made the jasper route with ease.

Thanks for the info Jeff. I am just looking at a (old) map now. Is the Black point Rd heading SW the low lying track and the track that goes to the S of Lake Jasper the all weather track?(The Jasper Beach Track)
Cheers, Craig

As far as I know the Milyeanup Coast Rd should be OK. It runs off Scott River Rd and goes past White Point. Nice drive.

Same advice, either take the Lake Jasper Rd, or enter from the Milly end or... prior to the seasonal access, there is a gravel rd off to the left. Their used to be some tracks marked running off it towards White point. It scoots around a bit of plantation timber and then follows some sand tracks. It has been a few years since ive driven it.

Jasper IMO is the more scenic route to take
