The conversation came up last weekend while we were away, about
Hair Cuts, how it started was, I was talking to this guy at the
Caravan Park while having a few Sundowners, he mentioned that he was a Barber, and I said what a coincidence so is my Cook, she cuts
my (hairs) to, she sets the Electric Clippers on number one and goes
hunting for hairs, as you have gathered they are few and far between, now if the Boot is on the other Foot, women have to
go to there favourite Hair Salon, and there is no ifs or buts about
this, but I have told the Cook if she gets the urge for a Perm or a
Blow Wave, we wont be turning around and heading home for that,
she will just have to make do with sticking her Tongue in a Light
Socket, or finding a Sissy Barber, if things get desperate.

Cheers
Daza

Same here, a No 1 or 2 solves the problem. not much left to cut anyway.

I carry a set of clippers with me so do it myself if I have to.
Cheers

Well, since I gave up work about 5 year ago, I have not seen the inside of a barber shop. Kathryn has cut my hair both at home and on the road. Just uses clippers (No 4 I think, about 3/4 inch) and scissors for tidy up around the edges.

On our most recent trip, she got me to cut hers (No 6 I think, about 1 to 1/4 inch, then scissor trim and clean up). Got me to do it 8 or 10 weeks before we were due to head home in case of a disaster.Well she was happy with the result and I cut it a second time a couple of weeks before heading home. Family comments on her hair were all good when we got home. Perhaps they weren't game to do otherwise!

First time, I have to say I was a bit worried. One thing for me to have a bad hair cut. Quite another thing for her.

I doubt I will get the job when we are at home, but on the road, I think I now have a regular gig.

I've had a shaved head for years as it is much more comfortable when wearing a hard hat, doesn't get in ya eyes surfing and
generally it's just one less thing to worry about.
three cheers for the number 1 !!!!

She is hard pressed to find a hairdresser she will trust in a city of 1 million!

I am lucky that the war office can cut her own hair as well asmine. She says hello to each one before she cuts them as having so little left they now have names. Her sister is the same although she has a broken leg at the moment so she only cuts hair on cr.......es now.

I haven't paid for a hair cut in over 14 years. I do it myself with the clippers and trim the beard while I'm at it.

Cheers Kev

Same here Kev,
Haven't been near a hair Dresser/Barber for about 14 years.
Do it myself, No 3 on the roof and No 4 on the beard, and about every third go I get Fysh to do my ducks bum at the back. So it doesn't look like I'm wearing a high necked cashmere sweeter.
Starting to get snow on the roof these days even in summer.
Don't know if its a coincidence, that's about how long we've been married, Hmmm
Wouldn't know what it looked like in one of the Fancy Salons.

I have a hair cut once a year, a number 1, generally in spring. That way it is cool in summer and in winter my head stays warm.
It is getting due for the clippers

Are you serious....!!!!! If so, I don't hold out much hope for you when in the bush and trying to solve a few problems be they mechanical, navigational, health, food, fuel etc. Seems to me that you might be a bit of a liability.

D I O, DIO, DIO, DIO,

You would be one of the most SELF RIGHTEOUS PRICKS who has
ever put his Weeny finger to the key board, your Liability is that you
have an I Q of 2, and I think that would be an exaggeration.

This Thread is to create a bit of light hearted banter, and to get
some of the Forum Viewers to react in the same spirit, I would run
rings around you any day of the week on Bush Survival or Mechanical
Repairs ect.

Well, me and the kids we have hair that never gets get cut - it's just gets longer .... David, well he does same as most of you - No. 1 for trips, takes over a month till he needs another cut. we have own clippers - he does own, I trim the back if I think he hasn't done a neat enough job... it's just hair, most are usually happy if it grows back aren't you!

At this stage of life, I am just happy to remember when I had hair,
I still can manage to have a Short Back & Sides Cut, but the top is
smooth as a Water Melon lol.
