Do you get any feel of this through the steernig wheel? Did you change the filter yourself? Does this occure after 80 km/h? Does it only occure in 4th gear?
Sorry for all of the questions but the answers to these questions may assist in a diagnosis..
Good luck
Stubs

Dirty.

Stubbsy

If my memory is correct 80 km/hr is 3,000 revs.

What does she do if you were to take her up to somewhere near the "red line", say 4,000 revs + ?

So does it do the same thru the gears, at those revs, or is it higher ?

Are there any engine management lights coming on ?

Have you had sensor's checked ie MAF, and exhaust (if there is one)

Cheers

Bucky

80km/h is aprox 2600rpm, the prob clears out if i "rev through it" so to speak at around 100 km/h and it also stops if i select 5th gear, there are no eng lights coming on although the boost gauge starts to "flick" at the same time. i have not checked any sensors apart from checking for leaks. they run a map/boost sensor, if that is useful?

Hey Stubbsy not real familiar with the navara, but on the courier it is where fuel line goes into the pump.
The whole idear is that it is a gauze mesh to catch anything coming from the fuel filter.
Until a couple of weeks ago I had never heard of them until the power dropped and I got a intermitant miss.
The local mechanic pulled and replaced the fuel filter, then had to look further to find the problem.
It was a ball of lint in this filter wich sucked flat and blocked the fuel.
Hope this helps Bushy.

Hey stubbsy, sounds like a fuel problem this would cause the chugging. I would check the fuel filter lines make sure they are tight so there is no air leaks.
BTW I found a new Aussie Navara forum www.navara.asia
