OK, call me a wet blanket if you wish, but as much as I like
Birdsville (been there a few times, and look forward to my next visit), race week is the one time of the year that I do not wish to be anywhere near the place! (YMMV).......
So no, ya won't be seein' me there;-)))

Hi De, start your engine - down
Jardine Street, left at the
Bakery into
Billabong Boulevarde, right at the
POlice Station into
Adelaide Street (main street) - the CBD is blocked off so then - ok I'll go right at the
Bakery into
Billabong Boulevarde instead, right again at Fiona and RObert's house into Florence Street - along past the Caravan
Park then right again at the Hospital into the main highway to
Windorah or
Adelaide - over the town
grid past Two Boys Dreaming - down along the four mile channell - through the random breath test which is further along the flat - over the Diamantina River and left onto the track into the Racetrack - all up abut 4.5 kilometres.
A bit further on from the Racetrack you take a left to go to
Windorah and
Brisbane or keep going straight ahead over another
grid to go to
Adelaide via
Birdsville Track.

Hi Ruth, sounds like our kind of town!!!! I am surprised that there is a hospital there, obviously your government is not closing down all the regional hospitals like ours is, even our local one is getting phased out,

Flinders Ranges then across the Simpson.

Birdsville. Can anyone help out with carrying about 40 litres of fuel? From
Windorah to
Betoota or
Birdsville to
Betoota? I dont have enough range to do the
Windorah -
Birdsville leg in one go.
