I've seen some amazing things in sport, but the way Usain Bolt won the Men's 100m Sprint was something else.

He had it won at 60, shut off at 80, crossed the line with his hands by his hips and ran 9.69.

Well worth staying up to see.

Jim.

And that my friends is the saddest part of what Ben Johnson and Co have done to sport.

When we used to say "Wow! Did you see that?"

Now we say "I wonder if he's on drugs...?"

when a guy streets what isalways a photo finish event after stopping for a cup of coffee I guess some people will whisper.
However I think its very demeaning and surely these guys get tested enough.

Nope, never seen anything like it. And he's never run a 100m before this year. Holy cr#p batman, and he's only 21. If I were a sprinter for the next few years (and around his age) I think the silver medal will be the new gold for the mere mortals of the rest of mankind.

It's amazing the first time, but it bothers me that the for the next few years it will not be "who will win" but "will he give up before the end and what time could he really do ..."

Didn't seem like an olympic race, more like a school race around 5th division and he'll be checked for his age ...

he could have run the 100 mtrs in under 9 seconds if he didn't slow down i reckon. i'd hate to see him suffer some sort of career ending injury and then have to look back and say, "what time could i have run if i didn't slow down".
