Hi Doug
A little bit of history is right, I understand that the growers rely
heavilly on this pump station for the Citrus Industry in the area,
lets hope that the mighty Murray keeps flowing.
Cheers
Daza

Very good Doug, not far from us here. The growers now have only 6% of their allocated
water so the pumps aren't working too hard lately.

Yeh... I think the old man was smart when he sold our 15 acre block back in 1969, we were the first settlers on Sunlands on 13th March 1961,

How long did you stay there for.

If we dont hurry up and get the
water situation resolved very quickly, the area will look like that again very soon. There are already thousands of acres of citrus been removed so that the growers can
water crops that provide a better return.
The goverments (both sides) just sit on their hands saying that there is nothing that they can do until it rains. That is absolute crap as the rains that occured earlier this year were allowed to be syphoned off into illegal dams and
water storeages along the Darling and the NSW government does nothing about it.

Doug Thanks for that what a difference a lot of hard work can do.
Was there any particular reason you left after only 8 years.
Ask lots of questions don't I.
But things like this really interest me.
Many thanks
Eric

The Fruit Block belonged to My Parents, the reason was he only had 15 acres , prices of Oranges were poor by late 60s , some growers were letting them drop or pay money to send the produce to market, I as his Son was not interested in taking over either, my interests were elsewhere,
The larger land holders were in a better position to make money from produce like Tomatoes, and Stone fruits , we only had 3 acres of stone fruits, .

Thanks Doug so they really are sun dried apricots.
Looks like a lot of hard work involved and a few good rewards.
Maybe not money wise but memories.
Many thanks
