Haven't used a garmin street navigator before but noticed a lag in my actual position and map position. Tried both in 3d and normal and with sd card in and out seemed to be same. (out of interest With my external antenna connected under the clear skies lately it shows down to 2 metre accuracy!!) I have school zones/speed zones alerts on so maybe too much for processor to refresh quickly. As far as giving spoken directions when on a route its fine and gives adequate warning. Is this common with garmin units

I use a 760 too, haven't noticed that , I don't think it's anything to lose sleep over, but if you want to you can gain 20mb or more on the unit's memory which is more than adequate for many 1000s of POI's direct to the unit instead of the SD card, If you feel like it go to the url below and you will find much info for the 760 , please take note of the message between the 2 blue bars and adhere.

Hi Doug, good to see you back.
I have a Garmin Quest with a similar problem to Mav1, that is...my actual position and map position don't match when travelling on secondary roads, when on Freeways and Highways it seems fine.
I have had the Quest just over a year now and I don't seem to remember it being "out" like it is now when I first got it.
Be really grateful for any ideas,
Cheers, John

John
I had a Quest for a couple years and I noticed when Road Lock was on and travelling on a new Freeway in
Perth when turned on it was locked onto a service road near the freeway , after I turned Road Lock off it was OK

Thanks for info. On another note any idea where I can get hardwire cable in Aust to suit the 760. I see output from cig adaptor is 5v.
With my garmin gps60 all I did was cut off end and connect the two wires as output wasn't a concern but appears it is with 760 and not just a case of snipping off end and connecting.

Mav1
I would presume the same method would apply by cutting of the Cig Lighter adaptor, providing the unit is mounted in it's factory mount, If not in a mount then NO,

I won't be buying one until they put the SirfIII chip in like the US versions have - much faster!
