noise comes from both ends, me missus is laughing now, on a genny as with a car; from the air intake and the exhaust.
the suitcase gennys, as we call them in pommyland, resonate on the flat panel opposite the air intake. to see the results place a firm hands on the case at the point where the air intake is. take off the panel and place your hand over the air intake to hear the dramatic results.
get some of that dense boiler room insulation, aluminium foil one side dense insulation the other. glue a cut-out on the removed panel, then to ensure that no air is lost to the intake, trap a metal pan scourer between the intake and the side panel just as you fit it back on. voila! one more annoying resonance dulled.
i'm going to try that flex method on the exhaust mentioned earlier.

lurv oz just been on 4 weeks hols to wowan, rockhampton, yeppoon brisbane etc.

i need advise about oil. my local auto shop, who specialises in land rover, says to use 10/30 multigrade rather than straight 30 grade oil. whats your opinion guys?
