I have a 4.2 TD Auto and towing my 2.8 tonne van at 100kph I get about 6k per litre or 16l per 100k. (1HD-FTE) 151kw 430Nm

I believe the non turbo uses more as its only about 2/3 the power of the turbo engine. (1 HZ) 96kw 285Nm

Others posters will probably differ

With a 4.2 NA slug towing a very heavy trailer (about 2t) and sticking to the speed limit ;) Darkie used about 20L/100km and that is with 285 tyres

Cheers Kev

The Government's combined figures are good for comparison:

HZJ105 Manual (non-turbo) 13.0 l/100k
HDJ100R Manual (TD) 11.0 l/100k
HDJ100R 5-speed auto (TD) 11.2 l/100k

Hi Phil,

Can you show me where to find this information on the net? I am comparing the GU Diesel 3ltr to the LC's.

Also, can anyone confirm that is was just the series II that were handgrenades? If I go series III I should be ok?
The equivalent LC is a few more $$ that I dont have.

Kylie,
I mostly go to http://www.redbook.com.au/ and look up the used car value for the vehicle, then click on the specifications. Provided the vehicle is after about 2002, the "combined" fuel consumption figures are usually listed.

As a comparison in sand the 1Hz used 107 litres to cross the Simpson & the TD used 90. (Both manuals)

My HZJ75 with 1HZ uses 12.5/100 averaged over many tanks with no load on
