Took delivery of our 76 Series Cruiser in October 07. Have just been along the
Gibb River Road up to the
Mitchell Falls. We are Rapt about our Cruiser and have 25000ks on it now and it's going great. We are in
Kununurra at the moment and still have 10 weeks of our trip to go. You are sure to be happy with it we had a Series 4, 3 Ltr GU Patrol before and it is like chalk and cheese. The Toque is great for towing and slow 4x4 driving.

Great to hear you are happy with your new vehicle and your trip is going
well. Are you towing anything? and what is your fuel consumption towing or not? It was the only concern I had when choosing this vehicle (fuel consumption)..However if you choose a bigger engine you have to put the fuel in there. Regards Nav.

We used 11.68ltrs per 100k or 8.6 ks per Ltr for our trip along the Gibb and up to
Mitchell Falls then down to
Fitzroy Crossing. We used 18.86 towing our 21Ft van plus we also had the Roof Top camper on and gas bottles and extra spare on the roof. This been the average with the van there have been worse and better. 16.3 the best and 19.11 ltrs per 100ks the worst.

Those are very impressive figures for what you are carrying and size of van towing etc. If I can get that out of
mine I will be very happy. Even with the cost of diesel compared to petrol I believe the diesel is still the better option, especially when towing a large van. Thanks for that info and all the best for the remainder of your trip. Regards Nav.
