Hi all, five days to go before heading off to
Birdsville, put the beast (Patrol) in for it's service before leaving yesterday and our Mechanic found that one of the wheel rims has a crack in it, (any one with a rim for sale??????????). Now that the car is sorted I had better start getting everything else packed so that we can get away on Sunday. We are having a family get together Saturday so that leaves Sat out so in reality we have only got til Friday to get things together, better get off of here and get the roller-skates on!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers

Dont know how old your trol is but nissan replaced all my rims as warrenty due to cracks with heavier steel rims like on police vehicles, depending on age nissan might replace them for you,it is a known problem,if one is cracked beware of the others only a matter of time for others to fail

Thanks for the reply pepper2, we have already been to Mr Nissan and no there was no joy there which we didn't really expect, the Patrol is a 1999 one and has done about 190.000 on the clock.

Thanks for that Bagwon, Do you take all your business there?
We have just had a bit of a bad experience with our tyre people, we had new BFG's put on the other day and they missed the split in the rim which one would expect to be picked up whilst changing the tyre but our mechanic picked it up when he did the service on the vehicle yesterday, today Hubby took the vehicle back to the tyre place to get the rim changed and they charged him $34 to change and balance it when it could have been done the other day if they would have done their job properly. Now I feel that I am fair when work is getting done but if that problem was picked up when the new tyres went on there would have been no need for the return trip today. Think we might start looking for another tyre place.

Thanks for the reply and info Bagwon. We were lucky to have been able to obtain a rim from EO member Hugh who had a spare one in his shed.
Cheers
